“Everybody who knew says Hugo was a better footballer than Ronaldo” - When Cristiano Ronaldo’s brother Hugo’s childhood friend made big revelation

Hugo Aveiro was a better footballer than his younger borther Cristiano Ronaldo, his childhood friends. Joel Santos and Carlos Pereira said. They addded that everyone who knew the two brothers in their childhood were in awe of their talent.

Speaking in the Ronaldo documentary from 2015, as published by The Sun in 2021, Santos said that Ronaldo's brother was highly talented:

"I didn't know Hugo back then. But everybody who knew says he was a better footballer than Ronaldo."

Pereira, who is the chairman of C.S. Maritimo, said that Hugo was a 'street footballer' and played in the informal street leagues of Santo Antonio. He said:

"It is a different kind of football. Hugo may have been skillful, but it was as a street footballer, playing against his friends in an amateur way. Nothing like Ronaldo. Hugo was a street player. He played. He drank. He slept.
"When Ronaldo started to play, he played in a club with structure, with coaches and directors. It is a different kind of football. Hugo may have been skillful, but it was as a street footballer, playing against his friends in an amateur way. Nothing like Ronaldo."

In the documentary about Cristiano Ronaldo, Hugo is labeled as a talented left-footed striker by his friends.

Cristiano Ronaldo's mother also spoke about Hugo Aveiro

Dolores Aveiro spoke about her sons Cristiano Ronaldo and Hugo Aveiro in the documentary. She said that she needed to send her elder son to the specialist clinic.

She also added that Ronaldo was just 16 when he started paying for his brother's treatment but she still took a loan, as she was earning very little:

"I paid to send Hugo away to a specialist clinic for treatment. I was working as a cleaner, earning only £400 a month, and I had to take out a loan. Cristiano was 16 then.
"He was earning more and paid for his brother's treatment. There's no doubt his money helped to save Hugo. Things might have turned out a lot differently if Cristiano hadn't been a footballer."

Cristiano Ronaldo's brother Hugo Aveiro was reportedly under investigation over a fraud jersey case. He was accused of selling jerseys that were not authorised to be produced.

They were produced to be sold with the CR7Museu logos at the Cristiano Ronaldo Museum for €40 each. It was ordered to destroy the shirts, but Hugo Aveiro failed to comply.
