Whilst generally thought of fondly by Chelsea fans Luiz was often seen as a figure of fun but this news confirms his importance to the national side.
Luiz is seen as one of the leaders of the team and it was his masterful free kick that helped Brazil into the semi finals at the expense of Colombia.
The Brazilian’s move to PSG was confirmed before the World Cup and he will partner Thiago Silva with both club and country now.
The fee for <Luiz was believed to be around £40 million and Chelsea have already began reinvesting it into players like Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa.
Brazil know that if they beat the Germans they will face either the Netherlands or Argentina in the final.
