Newly-promoted Rangdajied United are close to signing former Air India duo Sandesh Gadkari and Prateek Chowdhary, Sportskeeda can confirm.

A source close to Sportskeeda revealed that the two players are set to reunite with their former Air India coach Santosh Kashyap, who is now in charge of Rangdajied United.

Gadkari was one of the best Indian strikers in the 2011-12 I-League, scoring seven goals that earned him a move to Salgaocar last season.

But the 26-year-old was unfortunate not to get enough first-team opportunities and was released by the Goan club. He rejoined Air India in the winter transfer window, making ten appearances.

Defender Prateek caught the attention of India coach Wim Koevermans and his coaching staff during the 2012 Federation Cup and was named among the probables for the international friendly against Singapore.

However, injuries kept him out for the majority of the rest of the season and now the 27-year-old be would be hoping to revive his career at Rangdajied, who were formerly known as Ar-Hima.

Shillong-based Rangdajied United, who qualified for the 2013-14 I-League by winning the second division, are hoping to sign foreigners after some trials and are also in talks with a few other former Air India and ONGC players.

The 26-year-old club will be playing in the Shillong Premier League next month.
