FA Cup Draw: Premier League sides get easy matchups; Manchester United to play Derby County away
The draw for the fourth round of the FA Cup was held on Monday and was broadcast live on BBC One. The result of the draw came out in favour of the Premier League sides, with very few meeting each other.
Defending champions Arsenal, who overcame Sunderland 3-1 at home in their third round encounter, will host Championship side Burnley while Manchester United face a tough match-up, going away to Derby County, 2nd in the Championship. The last time Derby and United played in the FA Cup, goals from Nani, Darron Gibson, Cristiano Ronaldo and Danny Welbeck helped the Red Devils go through 4-1.
Among the other encounters, the all-Premier League matches will feature Crystal Palace hosting Stoke City, Liverpool hosting West Ham if the Reds get past Exeter in the replay and Aston Villa hosting Manchester City if the Villans defeat Wycombe in the replay. Defending Premier League champions Chelsea will visit the winner of Northampton vs MK Dons for their match.
Oxford City, the team that caused a huge upset in the 3rd round by defeating Swansea City, will host the winners of Newport County vs Blackburn Rovers, a match that was postponed and will now be played between the 19-20 of January.
We could also see a derby in the fourth round, with Bournemouth visiting the winners of Ipswich vs Portsmouth. If it does happen, Portsmouth will look to get one up on their rivals Bournemouth.
The matches will be played on the weekend of 30-31 January with the 3rd round replays played on 19-20 January.
