Falcao responds to Soner Ertek, the player who injured him on Twitter

Can Falcao be fit enough before the World Cup begins?

Monaco striker Radamel Falcao has thanked Soner Ertek of AS Chasselay through twitter for the latter’s public apologies.

Monts d’Or Azergues defender Ertek’s challenge caused Falcao a cruciate ligament injury and then publicly apologised to the Colombian on Friday, saying he was embarrassed to have caused the forward the injury.

The tweet roughly translates to:  “Soner Ertek, thanks for your posts. Do not blame yourself, accidents happen in football.”

Falcao underwent surgery on his left knee in Porto on Saturday, three days after being hurt in Monaco’s 3-0 Coupe de France win over fourth-tier outfit Monts d’Or Azergues.

Jose Carlos Noronha, Falcao’s doctor has told the Colombian media that Falcao has a 50/50 chance of making the World Cup.

“I’m exaggerating a bit, but I think he will have 50 percent chance to go to Brazil. There’s a possibility, it’s not out of the question as the surgery went well. The light at the end of the tunnel isn’t small,” revealed Noronha.
