Falcao scores in Monaco win

Radamel Falcao scored on his Ligue 1 debut as Monaco marked their return to the French top flight with a 2-0 victory over Bordeaux. The £55 million Colombian striker struck late, in the 87th minute, to double his side’s lead five minutes after Emmanuel Riviere had opened the scoring.

Reigning champions Paris St. Germain got off to a lacklustre start as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Montpellier with both Edinson Cavani and Zlatan Ibrahamovic failing to find their shooting boots as Remy Cabella got on the score sheet for Montpellier and Maxwell equalised for PSG.
