False Winger's take on transfer rumours: 12th May 2017
It's day 3 of False Winger's take on transfer rumours today, and the news feed is filled with Barcelona related news from this morning. What's the buzz at Camp Nou? Surely not a Justin Beiber concert right?
Anyway, having gone through all the 'rumours of the day', I have picked out three reports that need some clearance. Do note, all media outlets might be reporting the same news, but it does not mean that it has any truth in it!
#1 - Leo Messi angry with Cristiano Ronaldo
Yet another day where Messi and Ronaldo are being used by the media outlets such as Don Balon to fetch reads. This time, the Spanish publication has gone to the extent of saying that Messi is angry with Ronaldo.
Well, I really don't need comment on this to clean out the air. However, if some of you actually believe this news, then you might be among the number of people who still believe that Santa Clause is real.
Unless Antonella Roccuzzo comes out and says that this rumour is true, one needed even bother about it. As for Express, who translate everything Don Balon report in Spanish, can you please think twice before bluntly publishing something?
#2 - Luis Enrique on Inter Milan's radar
Luis Enrique is leaving Barcelona at the end of the season, and he has not agreed a deal with any club so far. The manager is planning on taking a sabbatical before taking over at another club.
However, Todomercadoweb.com (to do merca do web, what?) are reporting that Inter Milan are keen on appointing him. I don't know how reliable the website is as I have not come across any "exclusives" from them before but the interest is real according to what I have to know.
Inter Milan's first choice was Antonio Conte, but the manager has rebuffed their interest as he is keen on working at Chelsea for a long time (i.e., till he's sacked in a few months). So, yes, this rumour is true, but it's not clear if he will accept the offer or not.
#3 - Oriol Romeu to replace Sergio Busquets
One of the signings made by Andre Villas-Boas at Chelsea with a lot of promise. However, if you look at the signing AVB made at Stamford Bridge, Romeu stands out, but for the wrong reasons.
He is probably the worst signing made by Villas-Boas at Chelsea unless you count Ulises Dávila, who was only signed to help his Mexican side, Guadalajara. The Spanish midfielder was loaned out to Valencia before he joined Southampton on a permanent basis.
He's someone who couldn't get into the Chelsea midfield that had Ramies and Mikel playing, and he's still at the same level. And one expects him to replace Busquets at Barcelona? No way this is happening! Marca are the ones reporting this, and it's clearly a "Which former player do we link with Barcelona today?" case.
