Fantasy Premier League 2016-17: Players to pick for Gameweek 32

Ibrahimovic is back and could torment Sunderland’s already failing defence

The last gameweek was surely Arsenal’s as they not only beat West Ham convincingly but also enjoyed as their top four rivals dropped points around. Manchester United had Zlatan Ibrahimovic to thank who rescued them from a loss as he scored a penalty late in the game.

The Red Devils continue to be unbeaten but a major part of their run have been draws which have not helped their case in looking for a  a top four finish. Their rivals Liverpool also had to fight a resilient Bournemouth as the match finished 2-2 thanks to a late strike by King.

The week’s big match ended 2-1, as Chelsea beat Manchester City thanks to Eden Hazard who scored two goals on the night.

As we move to gameweek 32, let’s take a look at XI players, who can give your team the much-needed boost.

Fixtures

Spurs vs Watford; Man City vs Hull; Middlesbrough vs Burnley; Stoke vs Liverpool; West Brom vs Southampton; West Ham vs Swansea; Bournemouth vs Chelsea; Sunderland vs Man Utd; Everton vs Leicester; Crystal Palace vs Arsenal

Emi Martinez may get another clean sheet against a depleted Palace squad

Due to injuries to Cech and Ospina, 3rd choice goalkeeper, Martinez will be starting for Arsenal for some time. The player is available for a cut price of £4 and a selection rate of almost 0.1%.

As Arsenal play a depleted Crystal Palace team, we are keeping our faith in the Arsenal goalie who can deliver a clean sheet in this match.

Defenders

Ben Gibson – Short term

Middlesbrough defender Gibson has been in hot form for the past few matches and could put on another great performance against Burnley. Boro have shown great resilience at home and the Burnley forwards will have a tough time breaking down their backline.

Gibson is also a good shout for bonus points in case Middlesbrough are able to keep a clean sheet, which is another big factor in FPL.

Jan Vertonghen – Long term

Spurs have shown their defensive solidity throughout the season and the duo of Vertonghen and Alderweireld has been a major factor in their superb displays. Vertonghen has also shown us that he possesses a powerful foot and can score the odd goal here and there.

Let’s also not forget that Spurs have just lost once in their last 15 games and have kept seven clean sheets during that time. This gameweek they host Watford at the White Hart Lane and will be ready to face the Hornets challenge.

Maya Yoshida – Short term

Southampton centre-back Yoshida has been a first teamer ever since Fonte’s departure and Van Dijk’s injury. The Japanese international has been putting on some great performances for the Saints and has also been an offensive threat due to his aerial ability.

A game against West Brom at home should certainly be one where Puel’s men are able to get all three points along with a clean sheet. The Baggies have scored just three goals in their last five matches and their weak frontline certainly aids Yoshida’s cause.
