Fantasy Premier League tips: Hints and guidelines to pick your first FPL team from your SK scout for gameweek 5
If you followed my guidelines last week, then I am sure that most of you had a very good gameweek. Some of the players I suggested including Crystal Palace striker, Christian Benteke, and full-backs Kyle Walker and Leighton Baines fetched a lot of points. I finally had a good game week and is making up for lost ground after a sluggish start. Now that we have an idea about the early season form of many players and the defensive fragility of some teams, we can go ahead and pick our team with relatively more ease.
Hot picks for the season
To make your task easier, I am giving you a list of players who I believe will do exceptionally well this season and I would suggest that you pick as many players as you can from this list. If you take a look at the list give below, you will realise that I have listed several midfielders. This is because there are many midfielders in top form and I believe a team with 4 or 5 midfielders will be the way to go this season. Also, I feel that Liverpool and Manchester City are the most dangerous attacking sides in the league and I expect them to score plenty of goals and their midfielders are going to be on the scoring charts or the assists table more often than not.
Goalkeepers:
David De Gea – £5.5
Thibaut Courtois – £5.5
Ben Foster – £4.7
Steve Mandanda – £4.4
Defenders:
Kyle Walker – £5.7
Leighton Baines – £5.5
Antonio Valencia – £5.6
Gareth McAuley – £4.7
Scott Dann – £5.5
Midfielders:
Eden Hazard – £10.3
Michail Antonio – £7.2
Raheem Sterling – £8.3
Kevin De Bruyne – £10.5
Roberto Firmino – £8.4
Adam Lallana – £7.1
Sadio Mane – £8.9
Kevin Mirallas – £6.6
Strikers:
Diego Costa – £9.9
Romelu Lukaku – £9.2
Jamie Vardy – £9.9
Alvaro Negredo – £6.9
Zlatan Ibrahimovic – £11.9
Picks for game week 5
Here are the players I would suggest for each position if you are looking for transfers to make
Goalkeeper: Hugo Lloris would be my first choice for this week if you are looking for a new goalkeeper. The Frenchman is a top goalkeeper and will start in goal for his side against an underperforming Sunderland side this weekend. Spurs seem to have picked up their form and will look to put several goals past Sunderland’s leaky defence. West Brom have started the season in typical Tony Pulis style and Ben Foster is a good cheaper alternative if you are looking for one.
Defenders: Manchester City, Everton and Spurs have seem to be improving better defensively and all three teams have relatively easy fixtures and hence, now would be a good time to bring in players from these team to shore up your defence. My picks from the teams would be Kyle Walker from Spurs, John Stones from Man City and Leighton Baines from Everton. Moving on to the cheaper options, we have the luxury to choose any West Brom defender or any Middlesborough defender because they are all cheap options and these teams fight hard to keep a clean sheet.
Midfielders: Liverpool midfielders seem to be scoring freely at the moment and any one of Firmino, Mane and Lallana look like excellent picks, but this week, they are up against a defensively sound Chelsea team. Players from Manchester City are also doing exceptionally well with Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling being the best of the lot so far. However, if you want cheaper options then Michail Antonio of West Ham, Leroy Fer of Swansea, Kevin Mirallas of Everton and Joshua King of Bournemouth are your best bets
Strikers: The two hottest strikers in the Premier League right now are Diego Costa and Romelu Lukaku. Do everything in your power to pick one or both of them in your team. Last week, I mentioned Christian Benteke will be a good option and I was right. The Belgian scored a brilliant goal and was involved heavily in the game. If you are on a tight budget, then Alvaro Negredo and Odio Ighalo are the two players I would recommend now.
