Fantasy Tips for Jamshedpur FC vs Bengaluru FC
Match 83 of ISL 2017/18 will see Jamshedpur FC take on Bengaluru FC in the “Steel Derby”. The match is a must-win for Jamshedpur’s semi-final hopes, while Bengaluru will look for revenge after suffering a defeat in the reverse fixture.
Goalkeepers
Subrata Paul: Subrata Paul has already kept seven clean sheets, the most by a keeper in ISL 2017/18. Whenever his defence has been breached, “The SpiderMan” has proved to be a reliable last line.
Defenders
Tiri: The experienced Tiri has played a key role in Jamshedpur keeping seven clean sheets so far. The 26-year-old has been a calming presence at the back. He has made 26 interceptions, the most by any defender in ISL 2017/18. His aerial prowess means Tiri can also score attacking points to go with his clean sheet points.
Andre Bikey: The muscular centre-back has impressed with his tough tackling and no nonsense defending. The experienced defender due to his frame and aerial prowess is also a threat in the opposition box. Another advantage of Bikey is that he can be deployed ahead in midfield instead of in defence.
John Johnson: The Middlesbrough academy graduate has excelled in ISL leading Bengaluru FC’s defence. He has been a big reason for Bengaluru’s fine defensive record so far. The 28-year old is dominant aerially which also makes him a threat in the opposition box.
Midfielders
Dimas Delgado: Dimas Delgado has attempted 823 passes this season, the most by any Bengaluru midfielder. It is due to his perfect shielding that he allows the players ahead of him the freedom to move forward. He has managed an incredible average pass of 68.58 per game, only Ahmed Jahouh has managed more this season.
Wellington Priori: The Brazilian for the second week running scored one of the goals of the tournament with a bullet volley from outside the box giving Jamshedpur FC the lead. Since Wellington’s arrival, Jamshedpur has scored in each of their last seven matches and have managed 10 goals (excluding 1 own goal vs Mumbai) as compared to just five in their opening nine matches. Priori has contributed in four of those, scoring thrice and assisting once, no Jamshedpur FC player has contributed more.
Memo: Defensive midfielder Emerson Gomes has impressed for Jamshedpur FC with his all-round play. Toni Dovale: The Spaniard after being overlooked earlier in the campaign has impressed recently whenever given the chance. He has impressed with his crossing and passing. With Edu Garcia having departed for Chinese side Zhejiang Greentown the onus will be on Dovale to provide the creativity.
Forwards
Izu Azuka: Azuka has scored three goals so far. The Nigerian has been Jamshedpur’s biggest threat attempting 30 shots so far, joint most by a Jamshedpur FC player. With Jamshedpur needing to win and expected to go on the attack, Azuka has to be in your team.
Sunil Chhetri: Chhetri has scored eight goals so far and has scored the most goals by an Indian in an ISL campaign. The 33-year old has attempted 35 shots on target, the most by a player in ISL 2017/18. Chhetri will look to score to maintain his form ahead of the semi-finals.
Miku: Miku scored yet again showing his predatory skills by volleying home from close range against FC Pune City helping Bengaluru FC salvage a draw. The former Rayo Vallecano forward has now scored 12 goals which is the second most of ISL 2017/18 and is only one goal behind Coro, the highest scorer of ISL 2017/18.
