FC Barcelona: Top 10 highest paid players
Barcelona are one of the most successful clubs of this generation if not the most successful and it is no surprise that the top players of the Catalan side are paid well. Unsurprisingly, 5 time Ballon d’Or winner, Lionel Messi heads the list, followed by Neymar and then Suarez.
The Argentine magician earns a staggering €21.2 million per annum making him the second highest paid footballer in the world behind Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo. Neymar who just signed a new contract is second on the list earning €16 million.

Luis Suarez has had a stunning 2 seasons at Barcelona and although he currently earns €10 million, talks are on for a new contract which will see him get paid as much as Neymar. Anyway, even with 10 million, Luis Suarez is third on the list.
What is most surprising is the fact that club legend and captain Andres Iniesta along with Sergio Busquets earn only half as much as Neymar does, both pocketing €8 million every annum. Iniesta and Busquets have played crucial roles in Barcelona’s success over the last few years and one would have expected them to be paid slightly more.
Next on the list is Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic who earns €6.5 million followed by another La Masia product Gerard Pique (€5.8 million). The top 10 is rounded up by Javier Mascherano, Jordi Alba and Arda Turan who earn €4.5, €4 and €4 million respectively.
The list shows how much goalscorers are valued in today’s market with Messi, Neymar and Suarez easily earning way more than their Barcelona team-mates.
