FC Goa coach Zico: The team played very well and created lots of opportunities
FC Goa earned their first points in the Indian Super League after they drew with home team NorthEast United at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati. The Goans showed a lot of grit and were able to stay in the match due to the performances of their goalkeeper Seda. They also offered a lot going forward, but could not finish the chances they created. Following the well fought 1-1 draw with NorthEast United FC, Zico, the coach of FC Goa, spoke to the media about the game and how he thought his team had played.
Were you optimistic before the start of the game?
Yes we were positive before the game. We were very confident. Most of the players played very well. It was tough game, but the boys played well. It was very good game and team performed really well and created lot of opportunities.
Holicharan Nazary did not play today. Any particular reason?
Because we wanted to play Clifford Miranda since he is very experienced player. Holicharan is a good young player and played really well in the opening match. But there are lots of opportunities for him to play and we will play him in other matches.
What do you have to say about the performance of Andre Santos?
He was very good on the field today. He played very well today. He was very calm and he played a very good game.
