FC Goa suffered their fifth defeat of the season at the hands of Delhi Dynamos at home on Sunday. The fans who had turned up at the stadium in numbers despite the form of their side left disappointed as Delhi Dynamos ran away with the game after the seventy-minute mark.

The official Indian Super League website lists the attendance at the Fatorda Stadium as 18,000 , but most of the fans had already left the stadium as Delhi scored two goals just ahead of the 80-minute mark. This was after Virat Kohli thanked the fans at the stadium despite the results they have endured in the third season of the Indian Super League.

The Guars languish at the bottom of the table after seven games, but Zico isn't giving up yet “Our situation is complicated, difficult. We need to win at least five games from seven matches but still we are breathing and as long as we are breathing, we have hope.”

When asked what his thinking was behind playing defender Sanjay Balmuchu at the centre of the park, Zico added: “His original position is in defence. He was playing in the midfield because I don't have a player available in that position with necessary characteristics. But he did not compromise the match in any way. We had many chances, shots that hit the post. In 10 minutes, they scored two goals and penalised the defence. We train so that this kind of things don't happen but they happened.”

FC Goa take on FC Pune City at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex Stadium in Balewadi on 3rd November.
