FCUK - The Premier League
A.k.a. French Connection to the United Kingdom – The top 5 French players to have played in the Premier League
There have been a fair number of French players who have graced the football pitch in England since the inception of the Premier League. Some of them have dominated oppositions and booked themselves permanent spots in the hearts of the faithful, while others have slipped, been wayward and shipped off before the fans could even learn how to properly pronounce their names in French. With the long-running reign of Frenchman Arsene Wenger at Arsenal, it is no surprise that a list of the top five players from this famed nation is composed mainly of Gunners. Nonetheless, there is no denying that every player on this list is sheer quality.
5. David Ginola (Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Everton)
Arriving from Paris Saint-Germain with a prolific record, much was expected of this wing-man, and while he delivered on some occasions, he did frustrate on others. He was a bit of what Nani is to Manchester United: a lively presence, and a nightmare to opposing defences when on song, but an absent figure, and a forlorn presence on the pitch when not. What is unquestionable however, is the skill and quality he showed, both while dribbling as well as finishing, producing some truly memorable moments.
