Here’s the list of left backs:?

?5. Filipe Luis (Atletico Madrid) – Rating 82

The Brazilian left back missed out on Scolari’s final 23 man squad for the World Cup, but still had an excellent season for Atletico Madrid helping them win the La liga and guiding their defense all the way to the Champions League final. In the game he has a rating of 82 and a potential of 83. He is considerably cheaper compared to some of the other players on this list.

?4. Jordi Alba (Barcelona) – Rating 82

Looking for someone who can run fast all the way up and retreat back quick enough? Then with a sprint speed of 92, the Spanish international is your man. He has an overall potential rating of 85 and is just 24 years old in the game which means he can offer you so many good seasons. In a crisis situation he can also be deployed as a left midfielder.

?3. Leighton Baines (Everton) – Rating 83

Another left back who is good enough to play as a left midfielder. His free-kick, crossing, penalty traits are all very attractive for a defender. He has been Everton’s go to man for set pieces and has time and time again delivered delightful crosses. Get him on board if you have some tall center forwards in your team. Aged 28 in the game, he can offer you at least four good seasons since his potential rating is at 84.

?2. Marcelo (Real Madrid) – Rating 83

Aged 25 in the game with a rating of 83 and a potential of 85, Marcelo has all the bases covered. He is a flexible player who has also played as an out and out left winger, but it may take a lot of money to convince Real Madrid to sell him. He was one of the scorers on the night when Real Madrid won their elusive 10th Champions League title.

?1. Ashley Cole (Chelsea) – Rating 85

For many years he has often been labelled as the world’s best left back, and it’s no different in the game. He is the only guy who has been rated 85, but you don’t want to look at him if you are looking for a long term player as he is already 32 years old in the game and may not last for more than three seasons. But if you are playing with a financially weaker club, then go for him as he will be out of contract immediately after the first season.

Some of the other players who have been rated above 80 are Manchester United’s Patrice Evra at 82(but he is already 32 years old), Manchester City’s Gael Clichy at 81, Bayern’s David Alaba at 81 (can expect it to be higher in FIFA 15) and Zenit St. Petersburg’s Domenico Criscito who is rated at 80.
