Fiorentina striker Giuseppe Rossi out for six to seven weeks
Rome, Jan 7 Giuseppe Rossi‘s agent said the Fiorentina striker could recover from the injury he suffered against Livorno in six or seven weeks.
“It looks like a sprain with damage to the collateral ligament. We really got away with this one,” Federico Pastorello wrote on Twitter Monday, reported Xinhua.
“In six or seven weeks he could be back on the pitch.”
Rossi’s career had been feared to be over after he limped off during Sunday’s 1-0 win over Livorno with a right knee injury, the same knee that kept him out for two years.
Tests on Monday have shown no damage to the anterior cruciate ligament, only a second degree lesion to the collateral medial ligament.
Rossi will wait to give a more definitive diagnosis until he has visited specialist Professor Steadman in Colorado.
