Toni Kroos: I will consider everything; open to Premier League move
Bayern Munich mid-fielder Toni Kroos has opened the door for a move to current English champions Manchester United by admitting that the Premier League is a serious option to be considered for his future, while also admitting that a move would not depend on Champions League football.
The German’s contract with the Bundesliga club expires in the summer of 2015, but contract talks have stalled as the 24-year-old is demanding wages at par with Mario Gotze. Gotze currently earns almost twice as much as Kroos, but Bayern are not budging and have advised the dynamic mid-fielder to not take things over the line.
Manchester United on the other hand will be more than willing to meet the demands of the German, who said in the pre-match press conference ahead of the 2nd leg Champions League round of 16 match against Arsenal:
“No decision has been made. It is no secret that the Premier League is a possibility for me.”
When quizzed about the possibility of moving to a club not competing in the Champions League, Kroos replied:
“I will consider everything. If I should leave.”
Renowned journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft has tweeted the following about Pep Guardiola’s stance on the situation and Kroos’ reply.
Me: – Would you consider a move to a team that it’s not in the Champions league? Kroos:- I will consider everything. IF I should leave
