Former Brazil star Ronaldo moving to England

The 36-year-old former Brazil and Real Madrid forward Ronaldo is moving to England, not as a player though. Surprisingly in this spell, he is set to become an advertising student.

The all-time World cup top scorer will undertake a work placement with London communication giant WPP while studying advertising at university.

Ronaldo’s spokesman said: “He intends to go to England, where he will receive advice and guidance from Mr Sorrell, head of the world’s largest advertising company.”

Ronaldo told a Brazilian newspaper: “Eighteen years have passed and I’ve hardly studied at all. I feel a great need to become a student again. I’ve learned a lot in life, travelling, living abroad, just in the school of life.

“But I also have to immerse myself in something. Learning from Martin will be perfect. I won’t leave him alone, I’ll be asking him questions all day.”

Sir Martin Sorrell is the company’s founder from whom Ronaldo is planning to learn the tricks of the trade.

After ending his glittering career, the talented poacher has been running his own sports marketing agency 9ine. Ronaldo is also on the organizing committees for the 2014 Brazil World Cup and the 2016 Rio Olympics.
