Former Chelsea defender Alex joins AC Milan from PSG

Alex has joined AC Milan on a free transfer

Ex-Chelsea defender Alex has completed a move to Serie A giants AC Milan on a free transfer from Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint Germain.

The Brazil international, who has not been included in Brazil’s World Cup squad, regularly partnered compatriot Thiago Silva at the heart of PSG’s defence but the impending arrival of David Luiz is sure to reduce his first team chances.

The 31-year-old, who lifted the French Cup and Ligue 1 title with Paris Saint Germain last season, has decided to move to greener pastures and has linked up with AC Milan.

“I’m very happy to be here at Milan, everyone has said good things about the club to me,” said Alex while speaking to Milan TV channel on Thursday.

“I’m really excited to be able to pull on the Milan shirt and I’m ready to fight for the team and the club.”

Alex joined PSG from Chelsea in 2012 and made a total of 70 league appearances for the French champions.
