Francesco Totti's heart-melting gesture towards Roma fan involved in car accident
There are a few bigger modern day Italian icons than Franceso Totti. In an age when one-club men are as rare as a Mario Balotelli goal for Liverpool, Totti has stayed at his hometown club Roma since 1993. Despite being good enough to play football for most top clubs in Europe, the former Italian national team captain’s dedication to his club is something Roma fans cherish as much as their support for the club itself.
If the unconditional love required any cementing, the great man has surely earned that with his latest touching gesture. On hearing the news that a Roma fan had been seriously injured in a car crash in Sweden, the club legend decided to send him a letter along with a signed AS Roma captain’s armband.
Here is his letter to the fan.
“Hi Alexander,
How are you? I hope this finds you well.
I heard about your accident and I’m very sorry about it but I’m sure everything will work out just fine.
Sometimes life puts obstacles in our way but this is when we find out our true strength, the one we even ignore having.
I’m sure it will be the same for you.
This is when we find out the importance of our dear ones, when we can rely on these moments.
Try to recover as quick as possible and keep on supporting us, because we need you behind us.
I look forward to seeing you at the Olimpico Stadium.
Ciao Alex!
Francesco.
