Rumour: Fredy Guarin set to turn down Manchester United in favour of Juventus move
Manchester United are set to be disappointed in their pursuit of Inter midfielder Fredy Guarin, as the Colombian wants to move to Juventus, according to the Daily Express.
Inter are close to signing Yann M’Vila from Rubin Kazan, and are believed to be willing to let Guarin go in order to make way for the French midfielder’s arrival.
Any deal to take Guarin to the Serie A champions could involve Sebastian Giovinco moving the other way, which makes the deal very attractive for Inter as well as the player.
The energetic midfielder score four goals and made six assists in Serie A last season,
New Manchester United manager has identified central midfield as a priority for this season’s transfer window, as Marouane Fellaini has disappointed since joining from Everton, there are question marks about Tom Cleverley, and Darren Fletcher has missed so much football with injury problems in recent years.
Guarin wants to be playing European football next season and is unwilling to join United as a result. He is currently part of Colombia’s World Cup squad in Brazil, though he has yet to feature in either of their victories over Greece or Cote d’Ivoire.
