Fulham sign two players
Fulham have signed Athetic Bilbao hardman, Fernando Amorebieta. The Venezuelan was available on free transfer as his contract is set to expire at the end of the season. The centre-back spent 7 years in La Liga with Bilbao and has signed a 4-year contract with the London club.
Fulham have also signed Ghanian International Derek Boateng. The midfielder has been signed on a free transfer as well from Ukrainian club Dnipro on a one-year-deal with an option to add another year. Fulham manager Martin Jol has been chasing the midfielder for quite a while, but contract disputes between the player and his club had stopped the dealing from materializing.
“I’m very happy that I have signed and I want to thank the chairman, the manager and the board of Fulham FC.” Boateng said
“I’ve been working hard to come here and I’ll do my best for the club. It’s been a long road for me but now I’m here I’m so happy and I can’t wait to start and give everything I have”, he added.
Boateng has won 46 caps for Ghana and brings in a a lot of experience into the Fulham side.
Boateng becomes Fulham’s third signing after Riether and Amorebieta. Right-back Sascha Riether, who was on a season-long loan from German club, FC Koln, agreed to a permanent deal to stay at Craven Cottage.
