Rumour: Galatasaray eye ambitious move for John Terry

Turkish giants Galatasaray are lining up an ambitious move to sign John Terry this summer, with the Chelsea captain’s contract due to expire in June, report The Mirror.

Terry is one of three experienced players whose deal with Chelsea finishes in the summer and he has yet to be offered fresh terms by the club.

With Terry now officially free to discuss terms with other clubs in view to sealing a Bosman free transfer at the end of the season, Galatasaray have written up a £100,000 tax-free contract that could tempt the former England international.

Terry comes highly-rated in Turkey with his former teammate Didier Drogba currently playing his trade for Galatasaray, who has recommended that the club pull out all the stops to land his former captain.

Gala’s stock has risen in Europe as well having progressed in the Champions League from a tough group that included both Real Madrid and Juventus, with Roberto Mancini now at the helm following his departure from Manchester City last May.

The Turkish side are prepared to offer 33-year-old Terry a two-year deal while Chelsea have a policy of only offering one-year deals to people of his age, but the tie between club and player is a such a strong one that he will most likely hear out anything the Blues have to offer before entertaining deals from anywhere else.
