Galatasaray sign Felipe Melo from Juventus

FC Schalke 04 v Galatasaray AS - UEFA Champions League Round of 16

Felipe Melo has left Juventus on a permanent basis after switching to Turkish giants Galatasaray in a €4.25 million deal. He had spent the previous two seasons on loan at the Turk Telekom Arena.

“Juventus Football Club can announce that Brazilian midfielder Felipe Melo de Carvalho has today been sold to Turkish side Galatasaray for an initial fee of €3.75m. The payment could rise by a further €0.5m should the player achieve certain sporting targets stipulated in the agreement between the two clubs,” a statement ran on Juventus’ official website.

Melo had originally signed for Juventus in 2009 after a superb stint with Fiorentina in his Serie A debut season, but failed to live up to the expectations.
