Galliani allows more time for AC Milan coach Allegri

Milan, Sep 21 (IANS):

AC Milan club vice-president Adriano Galliani insisted that the ‘Rossoneri’ head coach Massimiliano Allegri has not been given one game to save his job.

Local reports this week had suggested that President Silvio Berlusconi wanted to sack Allegri following his side’s 0-0 draw with Anderlecht Tuesday in a Champions League group match, reports Xinhua.

But Galliani is understood to have convinced him to give Allegri more time, starting with this weekend’s game against Udinese.

“Any coach in the world would be at risk if he lost 10 games in a row, but that’s not the case here and we don’t want it to happen to us,” Galliani said Thursday.

“The faith that we have in Allegri won’t expire on Sunday in Udine. As for Berlusconi, I have known him for 33 years so there is no possibility of any misunderstanding between us,” he added.
