Gameweek 22: Possible Transfers, Player Insights and FPL Hint of the Week | Fantasy Premier League 2018-19
Hello and thanks for coming back to read my picks to help you achieve FPL Legend status (or at least just improve your squad!)
From my perspective, it was nice to take a little break from thinking about my transfers and thinking about FPL whilst we had the chance to witness the ‘magic’ of the FA cup. Fair play to QPR for knocking my lads (Leeds United) out and at least I can say… we can now focus on the league 😉
So here’s my picks for GW22 – I did post 4 picks last week for GW22 so you lucky lot are getting another 6 today!
Check out the next page for the Pundit's views on who you may want to consider instead!

Fantasy Premier League 2018-19: 3 Players to avoid for the coming weeks
#1 Heung-Min Son – Midfielder (£8.8m)
Goals: 8
Assists: 7
Season Points: 104
Upcoming fixtures: MUN (H), FUL (A), WAT (H)
Son has been in absolutely blistering form as of late and has returned either a goal or an assist in 10 of his last 11 games. I made him one of my picks in my Gameweek 17 preview at which point he had 3 goals and 3 assists and cost £8.5m!
It’s really unfortunate he’s off to the AFC Asian Cup after this week’s fixture against Manchester United so make sure you keep an eye on his price after the game as I expect him to drop by at least £0.2m over the coming weeks. I tuned in to listen to @PlanetFPLPod podcast (an outstanding podcast – one I listen to every week) and the co-host James is a Spurs season ticket holder. In their latest podcast (S2 Ep 37 – “Nothing Useful…”) James talked about the likelihood is that Son will miss around 4 games if South Korea make the final. You can listen from around 23:37 if you want to catch that piece.
#2 Jesse Lingard – Midfielder (£6.8m)
Goals: 4
Assists: 2
Season Points: 58
Upcoming fixtures: TOT (A), BRI (H), BUR (H)
I jumped on Jesse Lingard after his haul against Cardiff where he scored twice and got an assist. He returned an assist for me in the next game and then blanked in GW20 against Bournemouth.
I’ve a feeling Alexis Sánchez will come back into the side for United. There are numerous reports out there that Sánchez is happy again and is raring to go. He bagged an assist after 17 minutes of being on the pitch that day and I’ve a feeling Lingard may be one to make way. I really like Jesse as a player and he was great for England in the summer. You may have to wait and see on this one but I’d avoid for now.
#3 Danny Ings – Forward (£5.6m)
Goals: 7
Assists: 1
Season Points: 68
Upcoming fixtures: LEI (A), EVE (H), CPAL (H)
His hamstring injury meant he was taken off at half time against Chelsea and according to Twitters resident injury expert @BenDinnery he’s rumoured to miss the remainder of the month, although @OfficialFPL has him injured until 19 January.
Southampton have a nice run of fixtures all the way through to GW27 and then it takes a big dip! Ings is their top points scorer and goal scorer this season so it’s a real shame he’s injured. Ings has had a few years plagued by injury. He’s really made Southampton a threat but his form had dipped as of late and I think it’s time to move onto another budget striker.
