Georgia vs Czech Republic Head-to-Head stats and numbers you need to know before Match 22 of UEFA Euro 2024
Georgia and Czech Republic square off at the Volksparkstadion in the second round of the UEFA Euro 2024 group-stage matches on Saturday. Georgia were denied a Euro debut to remember as they suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Turkey in the Group F curtain-raiser on Tuesday.
Mert Müldür and Georges Mikautadze scored for either side to end the first half level, but a belter from Real Madrid’s Arda Guler and a late strike from Kerem Aktürkoğlu saw Turkey secure all three points.
Head coach Willy Sagnol will be rallying his troops to turn things around on Saturday, knowing more dropped points could effectively bring their dreams of a knockout-stage spot to an end.
Czech Republic, meanwhile, were left disappointed in their group opener as they fell to a late 2-1 defeat against Portugal at the Red Bull Arena Leipzig on Tuesday.
After Robin Hranac’s own goal cancelled out Lukas Provod’s 62nd-minute opener, Ivan Hasek’s men looked on course to secure an impressive point against a star-studded Portuguese side. However, substitute Francisco Conceição netted a 92nd-minute winner to hand the Selecao a dream start to the tournament.
Having gone toe-to-toe with Portugal, Czech Republic have shown they have the quality and fight needed to compete against the very best and will be looking to get their campaign up and running this weekend.
Georgia vs Czech Republic Head-to-Head stats
This will be the first-ever meeting between Georgia and Czech Republic and both nations will be looking to begin their rivalry on a positive note.
Czech Republic have won all but one of their last six maiden encounters against opposing nations, with a 2-1 loss to Kosovo in September 2019 being the exception.
In that encounter, Patrik Schik opened the scoring in the 16th minute to put Hasek’s men in front, but goals from Vedat Muriqi and Mërgim Vojvoda helped Kosovo turn the game on its head at the Stadiumi Fadil Vokrri.

Czech Republic are unbeaten in all but one of their last eight matches across all competitions, claiming six wins and one draw since a 3-0 loss against Albania in the Euro qualifiers in October 2023.
