German club Monchengladbach have signed Dynamo Kiev striker Raffael until 2017.

Raffael Caetano de Araujo put pen to paper on a four-year deal following the medical check up Wednesday, reports Xinhua.

The new arrival is familiar with the Bundesliga as he already played four years, from 2008 until 2012, for Hertha Berlin scoring 44 goals in 140 matches. Besides that he was on loan at Schalke for the second half of the last campaign and scored two goals in 16 appearances.

“I am delighted that the transfer worked out. Borussia tried hard to sign me,” Raffael told the clubs official homepage.

“With Raffael we get another versatile and technically gifted player for our offence. This transfer was not easy to accomplish, all the more we happy that it finally worked out,” Monchengladbach director of sport Max Eberl said.

The “Foals” completed the season eighth position unable to participate in Europe.
