Germany players to receive Golden Beats headphones for World Cup win
Germany beat Argentina 1-0 at the Maracana on Sunday to lift the World Cup trophy. The 18-carat gold encrusted trophy, was Germany's fourth World Cup title. But there seems to be more gold lined up for Joachim Loew's boys.
Founded by rap legend Dr Dre and Jimmy Iovine, the company was taken over by Apple in May this year. The deal was reported to be around US $3 billion. The company has no official ties with the 2014 World Cup, but has decided to reward the German team for their achievement.
Beats Electronics will give away 24-carat gold-dipped headphones to each member of Die Mannschaft. The electronics giant released a video that shows off the special headphones, being shown off by supermodel Naomi Campbell.
Given that a regular, 'non-gold' pair of Beats Pros cost around US $400, one would have to shell a lot of cash to grab a apir of these special Golden Beats.
