Gignac leads French Ligue 1 scoring chart

Paris, Oct 18 (IANS) Marseille striker Andre-Pierre Gignac continues to be the surprise leader in the French Ligue 1 top scorers list.

With big names like Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edison Cavani gracing the football league, it is a surprise that French striker Gignac -- nine goals -- stands top of the pile.

The 28-year-old's goal scoring spree has seen Marseille take pole position in the Ligue standings, four points ahead of defending champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) with a game in hand.
