Goa Professional League to kick-off today
The 2013 Goa Professional League will kick-off later today with I-league giants Dempo SC and Churchill Brothers SC taking on each other at the Duler Ground in Mapusa.
This season’s Goa Pro League would see 10 teams in action. In the first phase, all teams would be playing against each other once with the top five, and then playing out the champion, while the bottom five will try to avoid relegation to the first division.
The organisers hope to finish the first-leg before the start of the I-League, which would also give the four Goan I-League teams good match practice ahead of the bigger assignments.
Participating this season are defending champions Salgaocar FC, Dempo SC, Churchill Brothers SC, Sporting Club de Goa, Sesa Football Academy, Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim, Goa Velha SC, Wilred Leisure SC, Margao SC and promoted Laxmi Prasad SC.
