Goalkeeper Moedim exits Juventus
Turin, July 1 (IANS) Italian football champions Juventus on Friday confirmed the departure of goalkeeper Rubens Fernando Moedim upon the expiry of his contract on June 30.
A reliable stopper with considerable experience in the Italian game, the 33-year-old Brazilian began his professional career at Corinthians before joining Portuguese club Vitoria Setubal.
After signing for Genoa in 2006, he won promotion to Serie A with the Rossoblu in his first season, according to Juventus' official website.
Following three years in Liguria, the shot-stopper completed a switch to Palermo and also went on to enjoy loan spells with Livorno (2009-10) and Torino (2010-11) before joining Juventus in the summer of 2012.
Signed as a deputy keeper to Gianluigi Buffon and Marco Storari, now of Cagliari, the Brazilian collected his fourth Scudetto winner's medal in black and white colours in May, rounding off his four-season stay in Turin in perfect fashion.
On Thursday, Juventus declared that Uruguayan defender Martin Caceres' five-year contract also ended.
