Guardiola warns Bayern against strong Roma

Pep Guardiola weaving his magic during the first leg in Italy

Munich, Nov 5:  Bayern Munich head coach Pep Guardiola warned his side not to take Roma easily when the German champions take on the Italian team in a Champions league tie late on Wednesday night.

Bayern have a six-goal advantage after thrashing Roma 7-1 two weeks ago but Guardiola asked his players not to be complacent.

"We start tomorrow from 0-0. We experienced victory but will not see the same situation. It's a new game. I told my lads that Roma have pace and a lot of quality, while their centre-backs are very strong too. If (Miralem) Pjanic is playing then that's one thing, if it's (Alessandro) Florenzi then the whole situation changes," he said.

"But we'll only know once the line-ups are announced. So, we have to be prepared for every eventuality. Roma will play to win in Munich, we'll play our game too. We will focus on our own style, even though we will also analyse Roma's strong and weak points," Guardiola added.

Bayern to face a different Roma: Benatia

Bayern Munich defender Mehdi Benatia, who joined Bayern from Roma, is convinced that the Italian side will make more trouble this time.

“This will be a very different game as compared to the game in Rome. Roma have great quality and they’re still a very strong team. I lived in Rome for a year, it’s a great city. There were problems with the leadership of the club, but I won’t talk about that,” he said.

In a very recent report, Bayern Munich have been ranked as the team in Europe with the most possession, while AS Roma have been adjudged to be fourth on the list.
