Guillem Balague: Alexis Sanchez is not part of a Luis Suarez deal, but Liverpool and Barcelona want it to happen

Barcelona and Liverpool are keen on doing a deal which involves Luis Suarez going to the Nou Camp and Chilean star Alexis Sanchez coming the other way, however, that deal is not in place yet.

According to Guillem Balague, talks between Liverpool and Barcelona yesterday in London did not involve Sanchez and only spoke about Suarez coming to the Catalan giants.

However, both clubs are keen to change that and Barcelona are happy to offload Sanchez in a deal for Uruguayan hit-man Luis Suarez.

Liverpool will have to fend off competition from <Arsenal who are also heavily interested in a deal for Sanchez. The Barcelona forward shone for Chile at this summers World Cup and his form has attracted plenty of interest from a number of clubs, with Juventus also keen suitors of the former Udinese man.

Suarez meanwhile is sidelined until November after his latest biting scandal which saw him retrospectively punished by FIFA. Suarez bit Giorgio Chiellini during Uruguay’s game with Italy at the World Cup and Liverpool are keen to get rid now.
