Harry Kane has more potental than Luis Suarez, says Arsenal legend Ray Parlour
English players are often over-hyped by the media. Indeed, when Wayne Rooney burst onto the scene, he was glorified to such an extent that people could have been forgiven for thinking that he was the second coming of Christ.
Now, we have another English player creating similar waves like the early-Rooney days – Harry Kane.

Into his third season as a full-time first team member, Kane hasn’t stopped scoring and already has two goals under his name from six games this season. It might not be the usual rocking start as injuries have stunted his progress thus far.
However, that hasn’t stopped Arsenal legend Ray Parlour from claiming that the England international could be better than even Barcelona star Luis Suarez.
Kane’s work rate similar to Suarez’s
Speaking to TalkSport, Ray Parlour said, “Would Harry Kane be better than Suarez at the moment? Probably not. But he could develop into a better player than Suarez – he has got all the attributes to do that.”
“He is a great finisher, his work rate is excellent as well, just like Suarez. Harry is certainly a player who can be the future for England.”
The Spurs star was the leading goal-scorer last season, in a league where the likes of Sergio Aguero have ruled the roost for many seasons. It speaks volumes about how far the Spurs academy player has come.

The England striker’s development in the last 3 years has been phenomenal. Since the 2014-15 season, Harry Kane has scored 61 goals in 107 games for the North London club. In the same time period, Suarez scored 92 in 106 games.
The difference might be glaring, but if one considers the fact that Suarez scored 82 goals in 133 games during his spell in England, Kane’s numbers are up there with the Uruguayan.
Luis Suarez has been in unbelievable form for Spanish side Barcelona and has formed a deadly partnership with Lionel Messi and Neymar for the Catalans.
Kane has some way to go to hit the heights of Suarez and only time will tell if Parlour’s prediction will come true. What can be said with assurance is that Harry Kane does have what it takes to be the best in his role and do well for club and country.
