“He tried to change the answer to make sure Ronaldo would be right” - When Nani opened up on Manchester United coach favoring Cristiano Ronaldo

Former Manchester United winger Nani once stated that Cristiano Ronaldo is allergic to losing. The two Portuguese internationals played together for the Red Devils at the start of their career.

When Nani arrived at Old Trafford in 2007, Cristiano Ronaldo was already an established star in Sir Alex Ferguson's team. The 38-year-old, who now plays for Portuguese club Estrela, initially moved in with his countryman.

In his column for The Players Tribune in 2020, Nani outlined an incident involving former Manchester United coach Carlos Queiroz which showed Ronaldo's penchant for winning.

"One time we had a quiz with Carlos Queiroz, Sir Alex's assistant. I gave my answer and Cristiano gave his, and I knew mine was right. So you know what Queiroz did? He tried to change the answer to make sure that Cristiano would be right. Hahaha!" wrote Nani.

He added:

"That's what it was like with Cristiano. He could never accept losing. Never! But we loved that about him, and we learned a lot from him. By the time Anderson and I left that house, we had become allergic to defeat, too!"

Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani shared the pitch for two seasons at Manchester United before the former left for Real Madrid in 2009.

Cristiano Ronaldo spent six season at Manchester United after arriving in the summer of 2003. The Portuguese transformed from a lanky teenager into a Ballon d'Or winner under the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson's tutelage.

The Red Devils enjoyed an era of success with Ronaldo in the team. He won the Premier League three times as well as the Champions League in 2008. The English giants also reached the final of the 2009 Champions League where they were undone by Barcelona.

The Portuguese also won the FA Cup, two EFL Cups, one Charity Shield and one FIFA Club World Cup. The player left Manchester United in 2009 with nine trophies under his belt.

After successful stints with Real Madrid and Juventus, the 39-year-old completed a sensational return to Old Trafford in the summer of 2021. Unfortunately, his second coming at the club didn't live up to expectations.

Ronaldo had a fallout with Erik ten Hag and left the club in December 2022 to join Al-Nassr. By then, the Portuguese had registered 145 goals and 64 assists from 346 games for the Premier League giants.
