Rumour: Manchester United star wants to move to Inter Milan
anchester United forward Javier Hernandez has apparently told the club he’d like to leave after struggling to hold down a starting place this season, according to the Metro.
Hernandez has always been dubbed a super sub in his time at United but that tag may be wearing thin on him after poor form this season.
He’s struggling to make as big an impact this season than his previous ones, starting just four Premier League games under David Moyes.
He has scored just two league goals in four matches this season, too, which may put an end to his super sub tag.
Inter are rumoured to be leading the chase for the former Guadalajara striker, but a host of European clubs are monitoring the situation.
Despite Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie both having to endure long stretches on the sidelines through injury, Hernandez appears to have been placed behindDanny Welbeck in the pecking order at Old Trafford.
After scoring 20 goals in his debut season at United, hopes were high that the Mexican could go on to become a regular within the line-up.
Wednesday’s Capital One Cup semi-final against Sunderland, which they lost 2-1 on penalties, was Hernandez’s first start of 2014.
Hernandez’s two Premier League goals this season have come from inside the six-yard box.
