Heynckes considering a return to Real Madrid, says agent
Bayern Munich manager, Jupp Heynckes, is considering a return to Real Madrid in the next season. After leading Bayern to the Champions League title on 25th May 2013, he is all set to take charge of his last game with the Bavarian giants at the upcoming German Cup final against Stuttgart. Following this, he will be replaced by Pep Guardiola.
With Real Madrid’s manager Jose Mourinho leaving the club, a spot has opened up and Heynckes is considered as a potential replacement, although Carlo Ancelotti appears to be the favored candidate.
While Heynckes is free to join the club immediately, Ancelotti still has one more year in his contract with Paris Saint-Germain.
Heynckes, a former West Germany international, helped Real pick up the Supercopa de Espana and the Champions League trophy during his two years with the club.
Heynckes’s agent said that he is also open to offers from Los Blancos. Reyes said, “Jupp would be happy and willing to return to Real Madrid. If Florentino calls us, we would probably accept the offer. At the moment, he’s only retiring from the Bundesliga, although right now he’s only thinking about the German cup final.”
