Highlights: Arsenal come back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Everton
Arsenal looked all set to drop three points at Goodison Park when Everton took a 2-0 lead which they held on to until the 83rd minute before two late goals ensured that both teams finished with a point each.
Seamus Coleman and Steven Naismith put the Toffees 2-0 up by half-time before Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud scored late in the game to square things up.
Everton 1-0 Arsenal: Coleman (19’)
Everton made the breakthrough in the first half when Gareth Barry sent in a lob over the arsenal defence originally meant for Romelu Lukaku. But it sailed over his head where a marauding Coleman lost his marker and headed home into the roof of the net with Szczesny unable to keep it out.
Everton 2-0 Arsenal: Naismith (45’)
Everton doubled their lead at the stroke of half-time under controversial circumstances with a counter attack which first saw Lukaku brush aside Per Mertesacker (a possible foul) before skipping past Calum Chambers. In a 3-on-3 situation, Lukaku threaded the ball through to Naismith, who was marginally offside. Naismith took it first time and the ball went under the onrushing Szczesny and into the back of the net.
Everton 2-1 Arsenal: Ramsey (83’)
Arsenal upped the tempo when Olivier Giroud replaced Alexis Sanchez for the second half and by the 80th minute, Everton were starting to tire. Santi Cazorla received the ball on the left side and a couple of stepovers later, sent in a low cross into the six-yard box and Aaron Ramsey, who made a run from midfield, was there to tap it in.
Everton 2-2 Arsenal: Giroud (90’)
Giroud finally got on the scoresheet after relentless pressure from an energized Arsenal. Nacho Monreal chased down a cross on the left side and immediately sent one in to the edge of the six-yard box where the French striker held off Sylvain Distin to head home with goalkeeper Tim Howard unable to do anything about it.
