Highlights: David Villa and Kaka score as MLS All-Stars beat Tottenham 2-1

David Villa celebrates with Kaka after scoring the second goal for MLS All-Stars against Tottenham Hotspur

Both David Villa and Kaka got on the score sheet as the MLS All-Star team beat Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 at the annual event in Colorado on Wednesday night. Harry Kane scored the only goal for the Lillywhites in a match where all three goals were scored in a span of 16 minutes.

The MLS All-Stars went ahead after Tottenham conceded a penalty in the 20th minute. Nacer Chadli’s handball inside the box gave Kaka a chance to step up and score past Michel Vorm in goal to give the All-Stars the lead.

The Brazilian midfielder then helped create the second when he made a run on the right and made a first-time low cross found David Villa unmarked at the edge of the six-yard box. The Spanish striker only had to stick a foot out to guide the ball into the back of the net to make it 2-0, much to the crowd’s delight.

Kane then pounced on a loose pass near the half line and as Brad Evans slipped and fell, the English striker made a run straight at goal, took on Omar Gonzalez and fired a quick shot from outside the box that gave goalkeeper Rimando no chance.

Although both teams pressed for another goal in the second half, the scoreline remained the same when the referee blew the final whistle to give the All-Stars the win.
