Highlights: Chelsea win 9-goal thriller against Everton 6-3

Chelsea and Everton produced 9 goals ninety minutes of the best advertisement the Premier League could have had. Goodison park saw football which showed just why the English League proclaiming itself as the most exciting in the world is not wrong.

The teams produced 5 goals in an 11 minutes blitzkrieg as both defences were ripped apart by powerful counter-attacking football.

Everton 0-1 Chelsea: Diego Costa (1’)

Chelsea made a fantastic start when Cesc Fabregas produced a brilliant ball between the Everton defence to send Diego Costa through who scored his 3rd Premier League goal in as many games for the club.


Everton 0-2 Chelsea: Branislav Ivanovic (3’)

Everton were still reeling from the first punch when the London side hit them with another. Ramires produced a ball through to Ivanovic who replays suggest was slightly offside.


Everton 1-2 Chelsea : Mirallas (45’)

Just when it looked like Chelsea would go to half-time with a comfortable two-goal lead, right-back Seamus Coleman produced a brilliant cross for Belgian star Kevin Miralles to rise above the defence and get his team back in the match.


Everton 1-3 Chelsea: Own goal Seamus Coleman (66’)

Everton started the second half strongly and just when it looked like they’d equalise, Eden Hazard made a dazzling running from the left forcing Coleman to deflect it pass Tim Howard.


Everton 2-3 Chelsea: Steven Naismith (70’)

 The home side produced an instant reply when Aiden McGeady made a fantastic run to set Naismith up for their second.


Everton 2- 4 Chelsea: Matic (73’)

The visitors came up with an instant reply of their own when some poor defending allowed Matic to take a shot from the edge of the box


Everton 3-4 Chelsea: Distin (75’)

Poor defending was on display again as defender Sylvain Distin headed home from a Leighton Baines free-kick

 


Everton 3-5 Chelsea : Ramires (76’)

Matic and Ramires exchanged a one-two at the edge of the box for the Brazilian to poke in his side’s 5th goal


Everton 3-6 Chelsea: Costa (90’)

Chelsea were not done and extended their advantage by another goal after goal work from Mikel to set the former Atletico striker up for his brace
