Spain have taken the first step on the road to resurrection with a 5-1 win over Macedonia in a Euro 2016 qualifier- the first competitive fixture since their ouster from the FIFA World Cup.
Spain 1-0 Macedonia: Sergio Ramos (p) (15’)
Sergio Ramos opened the scoring in the 15th minute with a delightful Panenka penalty after David Silva was brought down in the box:
Spain 2-0 Macedonia: Alcacer (17’)
Alcacer scored his first goal for Spain after a great diagonal ball by Silva was lobbed into the danger area by Juanfran for the Valencia star to volley into an empty net
Spain 2- Macedonia 1: Ibraimi (28’)
Ibraimi gave Macedonia hope when he scored a penalty of his own in the 28th minute
Spain 3-1 Macedonia: Busquets (45+3’)
Barcelona’s Sergio Busquets scored his first goal for Spain as his deflected shot wrongfooted the goalkeeper.
Spain 4-1 Macedonia: David Silva (50’)
Silva played an intricate one-two with Alba to slot home his team’s 4th.
Spain 5-1 Macedonia: Pedro (91’)
Pedro received a Silva pass at the edge of the box to chip it over goalkeeper Pacovski
