“I can’t believe we signed him”, “Has finished me” - Fans slam 23-year-old Manchester United star despite Red Devils’ 2-1 win over Brentford

Manchester United fans on X are ruing the signing of Joshua Zirkzee after he failed to impress in their 2-1 Premier League win against Brentford. The two sides locked horns at Old Trafford on Saturday, October 19.

Following a tightly contested first half, the Bees took the lead in the fifth minute of stoppage time when Ethan Pinnock headed home from a corner. However, Alejandro Garnacho restored parity in the 47th minute with an exceptional volley. Rasmus Hojlund scored his first goal of the season in the 62nd minute with a brilliant dink to help Manchester United seal all three points.

Zirkzee was subbed on in the 74th minute to replace Hojlund. However, the 23-year-old struggled, completing just five passes with an accuracy of 56 percent. He also created zero chances, lost four duels, and landed zero shots on goal.

The Red Devils signed Zirkzee for £36.5 million from Bologna over the summer. However, the Dutch forward has yet to deliver, scoring just one goal in 12 appearances across all competitions.
