I-League 2018-19: Kolkata Derby, Mohun Bagan AC vs Quess East Bengal FC | Match Preview, Live Streaming & Where To Watch Details
Indian Football's greatest ever rivalry, the first 'Kolkata Derby' of this year is all set to entertain all the fans of the two 'Kolkata Giants', East Bengal and Mohun Bagan across the globe as the arch-rivals will take each other on at the Salt Lake Stadium on January 27, Sunday in their Hero I-League 2018-19 fixture.
In the first Kolkata Derby of the I-League 2018-19, Quess East Bengal FC registered a thrilling 3-2 win over 10-man Mohun Bagan AC on December 16, 2018. A brace from Laldanmawia Ralte and a phenomenal overhead kick from Jobby Justin helped the Red and Golds to win their first Kolkata Derby since April 2, 2016.
In that match on December 16, 2018, Mohun Bagan could have written the storyline of the Derby in their favour as Azharuddin Mallick broke the deadlock for the Mariners in the 13th minute of the match but they couldn't sustain the lead for less than five minutes as Laldanmawia Ralte found the back of the net to equalize the scoreline for East Bengal.
Jobby Justin made it 2-1 for the Red and Golds in the 44th minute and Laldanmawia Ralte scored his brace after netting the ball in the 61st minute. Though Dipanda Dicka of Mohun Bagan scored in the 75th minute for his side, it was not enough to restrict Alejandro Menéndez's men in sealing all three points from the match.
It's needless to say that the match on January 27 will be electrifying enough where the Mariners will try to continue their winning run under new coach Khalid Jamil, whereas the Red and Golds will try to register their 129th Kolkata Derby win.

Mohun Bagan AC:
Sony Norde
There is one interesting fact about the 'Haiti's Magician', Sony Norde and that is he has not lost a single Kolkata Derby for the Maroon and Greens. Having played his first ever Kolkata Derby in February 2015, Sony is still undefeated against the Red and Golds.
Sony couldn't play for the Maroon and Greens in this I-League season's first match against East Bengal because of his injury. Just after his return to the pitch for Bagan, the Haitian Superstar gifted the much-needed 6 points to his side, showcasing his class over and again.
On January 27, the presence of Sony Norde on the pitch against East Bengal will definitely play a vital role as he will be the trump card against Alejandro Menéndez's men.
"We can still do something positive. It won't be that easy to stop us if we give our best. If we perform well in the match, we can expect a miracle to happen." - Sony Norde.
Will Sony Norde be able to continue his unbeaten run against the Red and Golds?
Quess East Bengal FC:
Jobby Justin
The 'man in form', Jobby Justin can play an important role in the match against Mohun Bagan AC on January 27, as he has been the most reliable player in the Red and Golds squad. This 25-year-old Keralite lad has already scored a total of seven goals so far, in the current season of I-League.
Jobby Justin not only scored a spectacular goal in the previous derby but also helped Laldanmawia Ralte score the equalizer for his side. The Red and Golds fans will definitely expect a supercharged Jobby Justin to score more on Sunday, against their arch-rivals.
Justin is currently third in the list of the top goal-scorers of the I-League 2018-19 season after Willis Plaza (13 goals) of Churchill Brothers FC Goa and Pedro Manzi (13 goals) of Chennai City FC.
