I-League 2nd Division 2018: Lonestar Kashmir and Pune City share spoils, Kerala Blasters B crush Madhya Bharat

Kerala Blasters B team got yet another win.

Goals aplenty today in the I-League 2nd Division matches. Lonestar Kashmir held FC Pune City reserves in a pulsating 3-3 draw, while Kerala Blasters pulled off a huge 6-0 over Madhya Bharat SC. Sportskeeda takes a look at the matches on a brief note:


Match 1: Lonestar Kashmir 3-3 FC Pune City Reserves

Lonestar Kashmir and FC Pune City shared spoils in a pulsating encounter with a 3-3 draw on Sunday in the TRC Turf Ground, Srinagar

Former Mohun Bagan Striker and captain Chelsterpaul Lyngdoh, struck in the 7th Minute to put the ISL reserve side ahead. Lonestar Kashmir pushed hard for the equaliser and, created several chances up front, but failed to capitalize on those.

The teams went into the break with Pune City leading 1-0.

Lonestar Kashmir kept pressing up the field for the equaliser. They finally broke the Pune City juggernaut through Aakif Javed in the 66th minute. Aakif Javed scored his 2nd goal six minutes later to put Lonestar Kashmir ahead 2-1.

Chelsterpaul Lyngdoh scored his second of the day in the 80th minute to restore parity. Rahul Yadav put Pune City into the lead again six minutes later.

Kashmir committed almost all of their men up front, in the final moments of the game to get the equaliser. It was Aakif Javaid who struck again at the 89th minute and made it 3-3.

Lonestar Kashmir will next face city rivals Real Kashmir in the Kashmir Derby on 28th March at the same venue, while Pune City will face Delhi United on the same day in Ambedkar Stadium, New Delhi.

Match 2: Kerala Blasters Reserves 6-0 Madhya Bharat SC

Kerala Blasters Reserves clinched a massive 6-0 win over Madhya Bharat SC on Sunday in Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi.

Ananthu Murali opened the scoring for the ISL Side in the 13th minute. Shaiborlang Kharpan scored twice in 16th and, 38th minute to put Kerala Blasters 3-0 at halftime.

It was all Kerala Blasters in the second half as well. Madhya Bharat SC hardly got a touch on the ball.

Sahal Abdul Samad scored the fourth for his side in the 52nd minute. Shaiborlang Kharpan scored his third, the next minute.

Sahal Abdul Samad scored his second of the day, late at the 80th-minute mark to make it 6-0.

Kerala Blasters Reserves will face state rivals FC Kerala on 12th April in Thrissur, while Madhya Bharat SC will face Ozone FC Bengaluru on 5th April in the Jagran Lakecity University Ground, Bhopal.
