Can Iceland pick up their first UEFA Nations League points of the current campaign when Denmark visit Reykjavik?

This Sunday sees an all-Scandinavian clash in the UEFA Nations League, as Iceland play host to Denmark in Reykjavik.

Both countries will be looking for their first Nations League win of the 2020-21 campaign, after both sides struggled against Belgium and England in September’s opening matches.

Iceland vs Denmark Head-to-Head

Iceland picked up a major win this week, edging out Romania 2-1 to set up a European Championship playoff with Hungary during November’s international break. If they can win that, they’ll be heading to their third major tournament in a row.

Denmark, meanwhile, reeled off a 4-0 win over minnows Faroe Islands earlier in the week in a friendly game. Their last competitive match was September’s dour draw with England in Copenhagen.

Unsurprisingly, Denmark have historically dominated games against Iceland. Their current record is 18 wins, three draws and no losses. Erik Hamren’s side will be hoping to change that this weekend.

Iceland vs Denmark Prediction

Denmark will need to be at their best to win this game, as Iceland have momentum on their side coming off their victory over Romania and are always going to be tough to break down.

The likes of Christian Eriksen, Jacob Bruun Larsen and Thomas Delaney should give them impetus up front, but their previous Nations League results weren’t exactly inspiring and the most likely result here is probably a draw.

Prediction: Iceland 1-1 Denmark
