Indian cricket star Ajinkya Rahane and FC Bayern Munich's Arjen Robben exchange gifts on Diwali

As Indian cricketer Ajinkya Rahane celebrated the festival of lights on Sunday in India, he received a special gift from one of the biggest football clubs in the world –  Bayern Munich. The German Bundesliga defending champions sent Rahane a Bayern Munich jersey with his name inscribed on it with the number 27 and wished him a happy Diwali.

Rahane, who received the gift yesterday, took to social media platform, Facebook to express his gratitude to the Germans and promised to give back something in return.

The Indian batsmen kept his promise as he sent an Indian cricket team jersey back to the German giants, but instead of inscribing one of the German footballers names on it, Rahane decided to pen his own name down on the jersey. Maybe, he wasn’t too sure of who’s name to inscribe on it.

The jersey was received by the club and was posted on the offical Facebook page with star footballer Arjen Robben posing with it.

The caption of the photograph read “Arjen Robben certainly enjoyed receiving his Diwali gift from Ajinkya Rahane! We hope all our Indian fans had a very happy Diwali!.”

He will be looking to turn things around when England come visiting for a 5 match Test series in November.

Arjen Robben, who plays as a winger for Bayern has missed a lot of matches this season due to injury appeared in 5 matches for the German club and scored 3 goals. Overall, he has played 147 games for them in 7 years and has scored 80 goals.
