In case you didn’t know…
Bengaluru FC took the stage against Kolkata marvels, Mohun Bagan in the second semi-final game of the inaugural edition of the Indian Super Cup. The winners of the contest were to face East Bengal in the finale of the knockout tournament, following their win versus FC Goa on April 16. BFC finished things off in style after Miku’s hattrick and Chhetri’s gorgeous Harry Kane-like strike.
Heart of the matter
Having scored a hattrick in their previous fixture against Neroca FC, Chhetri has been on a splendid goal scoring spree. The Indian captain’s goal today also made him the leading goal getter of the Super Cup.
Social media has been going gaga over Chhetri’s stunner and in case you missed it, here is the beauty of a goal:
Anant Tyagi posted a tweet entailing the skipper’s breath-taking strike during the match, claiming the 33-year-old is a true veteran of the game and even a 'GOAT' (greatest of all time).
Chhetri also had Bengaluru FC's Twitter handle buzzing.
What’s next?
After overpowering Mohun Bagan, Bengaluru FC have reserved their spot in the finale of the Hero Super Cup. Having missed out on the Indian Super League (ISL) trophy to Chennaiyin FC earlier this year, BFC will be looking for some sweet revenge and will be determined to clinch the glorious prize this time around.

There are goals, and then there are great goals. This one from Sunil Chhetri was one that Harry Kane would most certainly enjoy watching highlights of. It is a goal that is sure going to be remembered for a while, and go down as a top iconic strike from the captain.
