What's the story?

After Bengaluru FC won the inaugural edition of the Super Cup, the players started celebrating with their fans with the 'Yes Chants' popularized by WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan.

Seeing this massive support for Bengaluru FC, that too, in a manner that has typified his career in professional wrestling, Bryan expressed how amazed he was at it.

In case you didn't know...

The inaugural edition of the Indian Super Cup came to an end on Friday in Bhubaneshwar, as Bengaluru FC thrashed East Bengal 4-1 in the finals. Komrah put East Bengal ahead in the 27th minute but Rahul Bheke equalized in the 39th minute, to put Bengaluru FC back in the game.

The first half ended 1-1 but, Bengaluru FC scored three more goals in the second half courtesy Sunil Chettri (2nd and 4th goal) and Miku, who netted in the 3rd goal for The Blues.

The heart of the matter

After the match got over, Bengaluru FC players went over to celebrate with their fans. The crowd soon started the 'Yes Chants' (popular in WWE). Seeing this, the players also joined in.

One of the Bengaluru FC fan groups took the opportunity to notify the WWE star about his unique celebration being taken up in another part of the world, in a completely different sport.

Seeing this, the 'Yes Man' gave his approval on Twitter, camming it an "incredible" sight.

What's next?

Although Bengaluru FC failed to win the ISL after being the table toppers, they did successfully manage to win the 2018 Super Cup. The Blues will be facing New Radiant in the AFC Cup, away from home on 25th April.

Daniel Bryan on the other hand, was cleared to make an in-ring return weeks before WrestleMania and is now an active performer on the WWE roster SmackDown Live. He will be feuding with the Miz in the coming weeks, who recently moved to SmackDown as part of the Superstar ShakeUp.

Author's take

It's great that the 'Yes Movement' made it all the way to India and into other sports as well. Daniel Bryan made the chants very popular among the WWE Universe and it is great to see him react to it as well.
