Injury to force John Terry out of the Club World Cup
Influential Chelsea captain John Terry looks all set to miss the Blues trip to Japan for the Club World Cup next week after failing to recover from his injury in time.
John Terry collided with Luis Suarez during their Barclays Premier League match at Stamford Bridge back in November and he fell to the ground holding in his knee in pain. Further tests revealed that he had torn a ligament in his knee and would be out for about a month. He was expected to return for Chelsea’s away trip to Sunderland this week but doubts have been cast over the same and since he has no match practice, Chelsea might allow him to recuperate at home during their trip away to Asia.
Frank Lampard, who was also recovering from a calf problem is expected to take part against Sunderland and the club remains hopeful he will regain his form before the team travels for the Club World Cup scheduled to be held between the 6th and 16th of December, 2012, in Yokohama and Toyota City in Japan.
